Scott Robinson

Software Engineer / Product Builder

I'm a software engineer who likes taking products from a rough idea through to something running in production.

Most of my work sits around Laravel, Symfony, React and cloud infrastructure. I've spent a lot of years on apps that have to deal with serious traffic, not just demos.

I like the hard bits: distributed systems, performance work, API design, and tooling that makes a team move faster.

Outside day jobs I build my own SaaS products. Recent ones cover game server infrastructure, trade CRM workflows, developer platforms and community tooling.

Always happy to work with people who want to build something ambitious and actually ship it.

  1. 01

    Understand the problem before the stack

    Most bad architecture is a technical answer to a question nobody asked properly. I start with the workflow, not the framework.

  2. 02

    Boring where it counts

    Postgres, queues, explicit state machines. Save the novelty for the part of the product that is actually novel.

  3. 03

    Make the state visible

    If an operator cannot see what the system believes is true, they cannot trust it. Logs, audit trails and honest status are product features.

  4. 04

    Ship, then sharpen

    Something in production teaching you things beats something perfect in a branch.

  5. 05

    Own it end to end

    Design, build, deploy, and be the person who gets paged. That loop makes better decisions than any handover document.
